Willamette Valley Wine

The Willamette Valley Viticultural Area, located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. AVA is the largest of Oregon and contains most of the wineries in the state.

This region was founded in 1984 and since then there have been a total of 6 new smaller AVA located in the northern Willamette Valley. The Willamette Valley has a cool, wet weather and is recognized worldwide for its Pinot Noir.

Experts in the wine world Willamette divide the territory in the north and south.

Willamette Valley has over 200 wineries with the greatest concentration of them west of the Willamette River in Yamhill County.

Within grapes grown in this AVA are the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cascade, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Early Muscat, Muscat Canelli, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, to name the main ones.
